" WAITING IS SOMETIMES HARD"

#1. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Heb 11:6 KJV)

What does it mean to diligently seek him?

How do we do that?

#2. “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” (Lam 3:22-26 KJV)

If the Lord is our portion would our souls therefore long for Him?

#3.“Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do i wait all the day. “(Psa 25:3-5 KJV)

If we ask the Lord to teach us is it a one time request?

#4. What qualities does the Lord give to us to be able to wait on Him?

Look in the following verses and pick them out.

“Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.” (Psa 25:21 KJV)

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psa 27:14 KJV)

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon theLord, they shall inherit the earth.” Psa 37:7-9

#5. What actions does the Lord want from us that wait on Him?

Look at the following three verses and pick them out.

(Psa 52:9 KJV) “I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.”

(Psa 69:3 KJV) “ I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.”

(Psa 105:1-5 KJV) “O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.”

#6. (Psa 123:2 KJV) Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Why does a servant or maiden look to their masters or mistress?

Are they trying to anticipate what their next needs will be and be ready to do them?

SUMMARY: We must believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Because of the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed. We should hope in Him, and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. We should not be ashamed while waiting on the Lord. We need to know the Lord’s ways, and be led to the truth and taught by the Lord. Sometimes waiting for the Lord takes time. We should have integrity and uprightness. We are to be of good courage and know He will strengthen our hearts. Rest in the Lord, have patience and do not fret. We are to cease from anger and forsake wrath. We shall inherit the earth those that wait upon the Lord. If we keep His way He shall exalt us.

We are to praise Him always. We are to give thanks, call upon His Name; share what He has done for us. Sing songs to Him telling of His wondrous works. Have a rejoicing heart knowing we seek the Lord. Seek His strength, seek His face. Remember His marvellous works, His wonders, and the judgements of His mouth. It is not easy sometimes to wait on the Lord. We shall suffer and grow weary. My soul doth wait, in His word I hope.

“I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.” (Psa 130:5 KJV)

BE BLESSED....
