"A Ready Heart For Worship"

What is requested? What is required of the Lord from us?

(Micah 6:6 KJV) Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?

(Micah 6:7 KJV) Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

(Micah 6:8 KJV) He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

What is the act of worship in the following verses? What is the purpose?

(Psa 95:1 KJV) O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

(Psa 95:2 KJV) Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

(Psa 95:6 KJV) O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

In the following verses what does it tell us we are to do when we hear from God?

(Psa 95:7-8 KJV) For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

What does it mean; I have not refrained my lips?

(Psa 40:8 KJV) I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

(Psa 40:9 KJV) I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

(Psa 40:10 KJV) I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

What in the following verse are we asking the Lord to do? And what will our response be?

(Psa 51:15 KJV) O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

What kind of sacrifices does the Lord want from us?

(Psa 51:16-17 KJV) For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

How does God want us to present ourselves before Him?

(Rom 12:1 KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

(Rom 12:2 KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

In the following Psalm see if you can pick out what the Lord wants of us?

(Psa 100:1-4 KJV) A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

What kind of worshippers does our Father want?

(John 4:23 KJV) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

(Phil 3:3 KJV) For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

(1 Cor 14:25 KJV) And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

Are there false teachers trying to persuade you of their wrong doings and inflated egos?

(Col 2:18-23 KJV) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Are we freed in Christ to worship Him according to His Word?

(John 16:13 KJV) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

This indeed is true that when the Holy Spirit quickens our hearts to the truth we will no longer be decieved by the lies, whether of man or Satan. And then we can worship Him in Spirit and truth according to His will.
