We first did this one when Julian was 19 months old!
This is the very first gift my son ever made for his daddy. It's a special treasure because it's made entirely with his own hands - no intervention on my part.
Supplies and prep:
- Clear contact paper (two pieces)
- Two to four bags confetti
- Little bowls
- A table
- Large sheet or dropcloth
Take your child to the store and let him pick out his own confetti.
Cut a piece of contact paper the size you want. Place it on your work area and tape the four corners down lightly. Put each bag of confetti in its own little bowl. I put a sheet on the floor to catch all the confetti that ends up on the floor. It makes for much quicker cleanup than trying to vacuum all those teensy confetti pieces up off the carpet. Cut a piece of contact paper for yourself and demonstrate for your little one how to put the confetti on the sticky paper. Now let him do his own thing! What I like most about this activity is that I can tell people that it's made completely and entirely by Julian with his very own hands. I didn't touch a thing. It's all his own creation.
When your child is finished, cut a second piece of contact paper and place it on top of his design, sticky sides together. Now you can preserve it forever!
