[229] Woodson Watcher pg 22: O. Norris Smith states: "I have been unable tofind any records of Dover Monthly Meeting founded 1723. Robert WoodsonJr. (1664-1729) married "out of unity" in 1691 to Sarah Lewis of St.Johns Church (of England), but in 1714 in Henrico Co., the will ofHenry Watkins, another witness, and the Henrico Monthly Meetingrecords show that on 7 July 1723 Robert Woodson and Wm. Porter desireto be received in Communion and fellowship --- going into the worldfor a wife. Published genealogies credit Robert with a daughter Mary, but in his will dated July 1729, she is not mentioned. I suggest thatshe was "disowned" for marrying Stephen Sampson "out of unity" in1728. Stephen Will: Mary, son Stephen, Charles, Richard and Samuel anddaughter Elizabeth Sampson. Mary's will proved in 1774: Sons, Charles,Richard, William, Stephen and Samuel and daughter Mary, Sarah, andEliza.
[1651] The "Valentine Papers" state: "Robert Woodson Jr., for marriage withSarah Lewis. License Retd. by Mr. Tho. Cocke, Sr. who granted same.Retd. at Court held Octr. 1692.
