     Lewis REYNOLDS was born on 21 December 1843 at Wayne Co., Indiana, USA.1 He Lewis, along with his brother William, enlisted in the Union Army in 1862 against his parents beliefs. After 3 months of service, Lewis was back home, an invalid. He had been shot and had a bullet so near his heart that they could not remove it. Despite the bullet, Lewis lived to be 73 years old. Lewis was disowned by the society of the Pipe Creek Friends Meeting for voluntarily taking up arms and going to war. His brother William admited his wrongdoing. I have a copy of letter disowning Lewis from Pipe Creek Friends Meeting. in 1862.2 He was a Lewis was a Private in the 16th Indiana Infantry (volunteer army). He was wounded in a batrtle at Richmond, KY on August 30, 1862. He was discharged for a gun shot in the chest. Bullet was lodged in chest and could not be removed. Lewis was captured at Richmond, KY on August 30, 1862. According to the memo from Prisoner of War records in his Military Service file, he was sent to Camp Morton in Indiana on September 16, 1862. and served in the. He was a veteran of the in 1862.3 He began military service on 28 July 1862 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana, USA, Co. F, 16th Reg't Indiana Infantry. When Lewis enlisted, he was 19 years old, 6 feet tall, had blue eyes, a light complexion and light hair. Lewis' occupation was a Farmer at the time of his enlistment in the Army.4,3 He ended military service on 4 December 1862 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA; Discharged due to disability. He received a gun shot to the chest at a battle in Richmond, KY. A certificate of disability for discharge is included in his Military service file.3 He married Susannah Baldwin, daughter of Lindsey Baldwin and Mary HARVEY, on 15 April 1865 at Jonesboro, Grant County, Indiana, USA.1,5,6 Lewis REYNOLDS appeared on the census of 1880 at Liberty Twp, Grant County, Indiana, USA.7 He appeared on the census of 1900 at Liberty Township, Grant County, Indiana, USA.8 He appeared on the census of 1910 at Indiana, USA.9 He died on 15 August 1917 at age 73.1

     David REYNOLDS David & his wife moved to Wayne Co., IN near Fountain City and purchased 80 acres. 9 of their 12 children were born here. They later moved to Amboy, IN where the last 3 children were born. He bought 120 acres of land and lived on it when the Civil War broke out. The farm in Indiana was sold by Jesse and David and they moved to Montgomery Co., KS. An 80 acre farm was bought and was deeded from Jemima to Jesse to David, Jr.. Jemima returned to Indiana just 3 weeks before her death. He was born on 7 June 1813 at New Garden, Guilford Co., North Carolina, USA. He married Jemima Andrew, daughter of John Andrew and Keziah (?), on 4 February 1835 at Spring MM, Orange Co., North Carolina, USA.1 On on 20 August 1836 at at Center MM, Guilford Co., North Carolina, USA,, David REYNOLDS and Jemima Andrew were, granted a certificate to transfer to New Garden MM in Indiana..2 David REYNOLDS was (an unknown value).3 He died on 17 June 1865 at Amboy, Miami Co., Indiana, USA, at age 52.
