Husband's NotesThe Smith family seems to have come from North Carolina through Tennesse then into Illinois. In surveying every Smith family in the 1850 census of Marion County Illinois there are 9 Smith families where the head of household was born in Tennesse, along with William, all of the same approximate age group. The older generation of Smith's were born in North Carolina of which there are 6 heads of household. There were a couple of younger generations that were born in Ohio however at this time I do not believe them to be of the same family group. I have no evidence at this time to connect any of the families to each other but due to the age grouping and place of birth I believe these 15 families to be interrelated. The given names of the two oldest members of this group are Abraham at 75 years and Issac at 71 years. A good portion of the heads of household were biblical names which suggest a religious background of some sort.
