I had Ebony from the time she was 6 weeks old and she has always been a very loving girl.

Ebony and I did therapy visits for the medical care facility at the local hospital.

On one occasion Ebony and I were visiting an elderly lady who was bedbound wanted to see her. The nurse told me she has not been able to open her eyes for months. I do not know why this was. Ebony entered her room, went right to the woman's bedside and put her paw up on the bed. I took the woman's hand and put it down to Ebony who started to lick her hand. The woman felt Ebony's head and said "oh what a nice girl I want to see her." She turned her head, one of her eyes opened and she said "oh I can see her I can see her!"

The nurse was shocked, as I was. On the next visit a week later, the woman had both eyes open and welcomed Ebony with open arms. :o)

The next story with Ebony is truly a heroic one.

A woman came to see a puppy I had and brought her 2 yr old son. The son (Garren) fell in love with Ebony and it was apparent to me that Ebony loved him immediately. You know, the love at first sight thing? Anyways the mother started working me over, begging to have Ebony as they had just lost their 13 yr old boxer. Garren had really been missing his old friend. Finally, I could see that Ebony and Garren were meant to be together so I finally agreed. As they live close to me I could see Ebony all the time.

They have a beautiful home with a gorgeous backyard that is completely fenced in with a very nice play area for Garren. There is also a doggie door for Eb to go in and out as she pleased.

One afternoon Garren and Ebony were outplaying and the mom had to run in just for a second. Ebony all of a sudden burst in through the doggie door whining and pawing at Garrens mom. She then ran back out the door and turned and came right back in, still whining and acting very upset. Ebony then ran right back out the door and Garrens mom followed her this time.

Ebony took her right to Garren who was down on the ground and having a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting. Garren's mom immediately administered her husbands epi pen as he is also allergic and took him to the hospital where he spent almost 2 days recovering.

Had Ebony not alerted Garrens mom to the situation Garren may not be with us today.

They are now closer than ever according to Garrens mom. She is so thankfull I let Ebony live with them and now I am too :o))
