52. Cuthbert Marshall HERB was born on Feb 22 1875. He died on Feb 17 1956 in Savannah, Chatham County, Ga.. He was buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery Lot 1325. In 1894, he worked for Kehoe's Iron Works 616 Broughton St. as a moulder and in 1899 he worked for G. W. Tiedeman & Bro. and lived at 440 Price St. He also worked at Forest City M. Co. and later at Savannah Machine and Foundry. He joined Ga. Infantry as a Private of Company "K" of the First Regiment of Ga. Inf. U.S. volunteers June 17, 1898 at 24 years old and served in the Spanish American War. He was discharged Sept. 21, 1898. Married Stella Marr in 1901. The 1915 city directory he is listed as a police C. of G. & lived 31 E. Broad St.
His middle name, Marshall, was for his uncle Thomas Marshall who was married to his mother's sister.

He was married to Estella (Stella) MARR (daughter of George Redgate MARR and Eveline (Lena) HERNANDEZ) on Aug 7 1901 in Savannah, Chatham County, Ga.. Estella (Stella) MARR was born on Dec 23 1887 in Savannah, Chatham County, Ga.. She was baptized on Nov 18 1913 in Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Savannah, Ga.. She was baptized by Father Joseph D. Mitchell. It was a private baptism; she converted from Anglican religion. She died on Dec 10 1965 in Savannah, Chatham County, Ga.. She was buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery Lot 1325. She married Cuthbert Marshall Herb in 1901. She used to tell about a haunted house that they lived in at 310 East Oglethorpe Ave.(lot 39 Colombia Ward) Cuthbert Marshall HERB and Estella (Stella) MARR had the following children:
