TIME SHADOW
This mortal body
      Is but an imprint of time.
           Pumped by stress,
           held firm by strain,
 It emerges from the elastic shadows
           of chaos...
           Through love -
 Shaped to house a soul,
           it records new form
           on beams of light
 In the memory-banks of the universe,
           as the spirit flies free
           on illusive butterfly wings.

LOVEWINGS
Love was born
 on new-sprung butterfly wings.
 Timidly,
 damp pinions fluttered -
 unfurling, testing the air.
 When their form was set,
 they soared -
 sweeping in sunlight's freedom;
 dipping, gliding
 through sweet currents
 of perfumed air.
 Gentle sails vibrated
 to an unheard tune
 as tiny feet tickled rosy petals
 in a delicate, formless dance.

 Sun's rays grew short;
 warm breezes grew chill;
 brave wings tried to rise on ragged winds.
 Once bright and supple,
 they grew brittle and pale
 in the cold.
 Resting on a leaf-shorn stem,
 tattered feathers slowly opened
 and closed,
 gave one last, brief shiver -
 and then grew still . . .
