Right opposite the castle stands the Mash Tun
Until 1995 it was called The Two Brewer's, it was then bought by a company who renamed it The Olde Guildfordian and completely refurbished the interior. Early 2000 the pub was bought by yet another company who gutted the interior and gave it an entirely new design.

The first mention of the Two Brewers in the title deeds of the building was in 1871 but there was certainly a beerhouse here before this date. The present building dates from approx. 1741.
