MY PERSONAL VIEW

Everything is up to you as a responsible dog owner.

Train your dog to be a sociable and obedient member of your family, it's new pack.

The four basics hold true.

understanding -knowing why the dog does what it does.
be firm - correct a mistake before it's a habit.
kindness - be gentle, they love to be petted.
patience - take the time to teach.

Make for a well adjusted dog.

I do not profess to be an expert at training dogs. I just know what I know. Having read several good books on dogs, and wolves pertaining to the pack. Having had any where from 3 to 32 dogs in the yard at one time gave me a chance to study them.

The time spent with my dogs has proven to be a wonderful experience. I learned by observation, the habits of my dogs. I started out not knowing a thing about dogs. The result after 9 years of feeding, watering, brushing, picking up stool, training for work, and observing their habits day in and day out, gave me an insight to their world. I would like to add here that, some of the things I have stated are maybe outrageous to some and to others normal. Please understand that many people have ideas on how to train, this is my way.

If you take the time to read the information on this site, you will no doubt think I am repeating things others have said, and your right. The information here is the way I have learned to understand, and apply it. I know if your dog understands it's place it is so much easier to train. Try to think like a dog .

Please support your local SPCA

I encourage dog owners who have no intention of breeding their dog
to spay or neuter to reduce unwanted dogs.

Make sure your dog sees a veterinarian at least once a year to update vaccinations
to maintain their health.
