"ECZEMA"
Eczema consists of itchy,
red, dry, inflamed patches of skin.
It is very commonly found
on the inside of elbows and knees
and on the face, but can
be anywhere on the body and can
flare up at any time.
Scratching can lead to open sores where
infection can develop.
Trying to control it can
be frustrating to say the least!
The best way is to avoid
it, by avoiding common 'triggers'
such as allergens, heat,
sweating, stress, soaps, creams, etc.
Often a 'steroid cream'
is prescribed to help reduce the
inflammation and itching.
'Antihistamines' also help relieve the
itching.(ie Benadryl)
'Antibiotics' are sometimes prescribed
if there is infection.
