Hi, My name is Shirley and I am very new to the internet. This is my first try at making a homepage, so I hope that you will let me know how I am doing. (Actually, I have other pages now, but I'm sentimental, so I didn't want to change this paragraph except for the years my husband and I have been married.) Let me tell you a little about myself. I live in Florida now, but am originally from West Virginia. I am a Christian wife and mother and have been married to the same man for 46 years. (WOW!!) We had 5 children...4 boys and 1 girl.

I became a WSI (water safety instructor), because my children were taking swimming lessons and I also had the opportunity to learn so I could help. I taught swimming for about 20 years. I still teach occasionally.

I am also a former Sweet Adeline. I took part in quartet and chorus competitions. I even directed a small chorus for a while. It was a wonderful experience.

My hobbies....I guess you could say writing music and poetry (when I have the time). I've had two songs published in a hymnal, and my trio performed a song I had written for a benefit that was given for a little boy.

I am now homeschooling my grandchildren which live with us, so I am learning and doing things all over. I love it. I guess that's about all I can think of for now. I hope you will enjoy your visit to my page.

Update: I'm down to my last grandchild. The other two have grown and are now on their own and doing very well. By the time I finish with my youngest grandson, I should have a college diploma.:-)

Sorry it's taking so long to load. Why don'tcha go get a cup of coffee or go to the bathroom, or whatever it is you do when a commercial comes on tv.
