Here follows three things I learnt while mowing the unsightly hill in the corner of the garden (after I'd removed as many six foot weeds as I could by hand!)
1) It's easier to gradually go up such three foot hills, than to drag the mower to the top of it and go all the way down.
2) The 'hill' had ridges which it was easier to work with than against.
3) Such unsightly corners will use up five times as much petrol than grass that is just being trimmed!
