NAVAL AVIATION
To the perpetrators of the terrible events of September 11, 2001. Relax for a moment and enjoy the background music. It represents a great many dedicated men and women. They come in all the colors found on Earth. They
represent or descend from virtually every religion, national heritage and ethnic group found on Earth. But they have one thing in common. They are Americans. And they are coming for you.
If there was any legitimacy to your cause, you have erased it.
They are coming for you and there is no place to hide.
"...And once you have tasted flight, you will walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return."
Leonardo DaVinci

This portion of our site is dedicated to Naval Aviation. It will consist mainly of links. There are so many terrific sites you can visit, I will not try to duplicate or imitate them. I will present a few pictures from my collection, but most of my
collection will be found on my career page.

BTW. Quickie lesson for talking with Navy Airdales (Naval Aviation people). I can't speak for the Air Force, but with only a few exceptions, don't talk to Navy airdales about aircraft nicknames unless they're the unofficial ones we give them. We did
not fly in or work on nicknames. We did not fly in Neptunes, Skyraiders or Orions. We flew or worked on P2V's, ADs or P3s. Even the few exceptions like Vigilante, Skyhawk or Intruder, we are more likely to say RA-5C, A-4 or A-6. In most cases, using the
nickname marks you as a non-Naval Aviation person. A top-gun driver does not fly a Tomcat, he flys an F-14 ~ ask him! Tomcat is only what's on his flight jacket shoulder patch. Also, helicopters are not choppers. They are Helos. We had/have our own
language and idioms. Just two sentences into a conversation we can tell if we're talking to a real Navy airdale or a wanna-be.
Very important note. Marine Corps Aviation and Coast Guard Aviation are very much a part of the Naval Aviation fraternity! We often shared the same schools, training and over-lapping duties.
