Silas Byrd Duncan was my grandfather. He went by the name of Byrd. He was also a coal miner. He married Malinda Pearl Tucker. They lived in a company house in Briceville. They separated and Byrd went on to work in ship yards, coal mines and other places. She moved to Clinton and was a waitress at the Brown Bobby Cafe. The Brown Bobby Cafe was operated by Ocie Duncan. She was called "Maw" Duncan. Her husband was from this same line of Duncans decesended from Moses Duncan. The cafe was later was bought by the twins Hassie Seivers and Lassie Disney, and called the Twins Cafe.
