Keith Martin's Reflection
Go Back

Keith Martin reflects . . .

I first came to the mountain on week 8 of 1997. My friend Chuck Nawoj had told me many wonderful and interesting things about the mountain. So, I joined Chuck in his week spent at Horton Center.

We arrived at Horton Center a night early because his mother (Jan Nawoj) was voulenteering for the week. We were told that we would be spending our week in cabin Faith. Chuck and I went into cabin faith and spent the night alone. The next morning we discovered that we were in cabin Emmaus, so we packed and moved. We also discovered that another camper (Rich) had come early too. We hung out with Rich until the other campers arrived. The first new camper I met was James, who ended up being our cabin mate. Then i met the rest of our cabin, Chris, CJ, Jay, JW, Jason, and Keith B. Then later during free time I interrupted a frisbee game and made two more friends, Lindsey and Sadie. Anyways, how the story goes is that I made many friends at Horton Center.

Horton Center is the most wonderful place on Earth for me. I love the mountain with all my heart and soul. I gave me more faith in God and also showed me what true peace is like. I will definetly return to the mountain hopefully many times. I hope everyone finds as much happiness at Horton Center than I did. See you there.

Love, Peace, and Herbal Tea,
Keith
