Ray Berglund's Reflection
Go Back

Ray Berglund reflects. . .

I, just returning today (Saturday June, 12) have just possibly found what I believe is my "faith." Here is my philosophy, or let's say "The Philisophical Words of RAY!": People, almost anyone, say that god is with everyone, everywhere, all of the time. This quite possibly could be a real statement to someone, however it does not apply to me. I believe that God is out there, however he is not always with you, he is not always where you are, and he is not there all of the time. My own faith tells me to go out and get god, and to find him, and tell him what I need and what I am thankful for when he is around. This week (my fourth year at Horton Center) I believe that I found my time and place with god. When I sat on top of Chapel Rock, for the millionth time, I knew that this was my place to talk to god, and that he would listen from there.

Horton Center is a place that breaks down all barriers, whether it is emotion, physical, or social strengths, everyone can have a good time and have their company enjoyed there. It truly is heaven on earth.

It is a truly amazing and beautiful moment when you find you place with God.

Peace and love to all who understand.

Well, here I am sitting at home, and for no reason go to the Horton Center homepage, probably to check if anythings changed. I start going through all of the kewl stuff thats in this page (thanks Sean) and I start reflecting on the Mountain and I just knew that sending another reflection needed to be done.

To Tracy, thank you for being there on my last three experiences on the mountain, you are an unforgettable character and you are always there when I need you. I know you won't ever forget the times we had, but I hope you have a great senior year and have fun being a FRESHMAN again in college, and always keep in touch.

To Eric Weeks, not a single week has gone by at Horton Center with you there, man, and you have made some of the best moments for me. Remember that it's all good when you eat CHERRY Garcia with Jake and I in the kitchen.

To Mike Simmons, that whole deal about saving my life up on Wildcat, that owes you more than I can give. I will always return to Horton Center and I always hope to see you there. Keep up the good work in Indiana and you can go anywhere with God my friend.

To JT, sup wit dat?? You are da man!! If anyone has made my Horton Center visits complete, it you my friend. I have never met such a kewl 25 year old kid in my life!! Keep runin' things that way you do and I be back for years to come.

To Andrea Green, baby, your the best. Never forget that I'm here and you owe me lunch.

To Colin, Zimbabwe is a lucky country. The summer of 97 kicked tush with you there, man! I know your going places, just by the way you are, so keep on goin' on and I will see ya around.

To Shawnee, I remember you when you were the short-straight-haired gentle type, and your just the same now (except for the hair). If anyone reads kewl books, its you, and remember that yes even sometimes children's books can get a little perverted.

To all the people I've met at Horton Center, I love you all, and the special moments that I have made with you and the impact you have had on my faith and me, will live on forever.

To all of the Horton Center staff, from the past, in the present, and far on into the great wide open future, you guys rock! There is nothing like having a group of kids come to the level maturity as you guys, and there is nothing like having you guys come to the level of maturity as we the campers! I will see everyone of of you at every chance I get, and hope to be one of the acclaimed award winning super-staff people of the great Pine Mountain.

Thank you to everyone, it has been special, is special, and will be special.

love ya RAY
