Tracy Berryman's Reflection
Go Back

Tracy Berryman remembers. . .

NEWSTUFF:
I returned for week 8 at Horton, and while I have had many trying and unforgettable experiences in the past there, none have been more uplifting than the hike during week 8. Our group hiked up Wildcat with Mike in the rain, cold, and wind. I was in tears I was so cold and hopeless when we couldn't get into the gondola. But we eventually got in, got to warm up and dry off a little, and made our treck down the mountain. At the time I was miserable and wished I had never gone on the hike, but looking back, I wouldn't change a thing about it. Mike, along with a good friend, kept my spirits up and wouldn't let me give up, and it is an experience that will always be with me.

Thank you.

OLD STUFF
It is so hard to say how much Horton Center means to me. It is a place of love and happiness that will always be with me, no matter what I do. No matter what changes occur in my life, and no matter how old I get, I can always go back to Horton Center. It is and always will be my home away from home where I can be myself all the time.

The friendships I have made there are ones that have had unbelievable impact on my life, and no matter where I go or what I do, I will always have those friends and memories. The bonds you make with the people at HC are so strong-they can withstand anything. Some of my best friends have come from HC.

But it's not only the bonds you make with friends and staff that matter, but the bond made with God. No matter what goes wrong in my life throughout the year, HC helps me to reconfirm my faith in God, and it makes me realize that I was sent there for a reason. No matter where I go in life, I can guarentee that each and every year, I will be back at Horton, no matter what!!! I love you all!

Shalom,
Tracy B. Berryman
