History of Samual S. (Simon or Strange ? ) Basford

Not much here yet.

A census check on Samual Simon Basford shows he was seven years old when the first census was done in 1850. He married Martha Heath Knowles. HE died 1911? This was taken from a census report that was given to me by a Basford family member.

In a couple of places I found a note that shows Samual's name as Samual Simon Basford and in other places it is shown as Samual Strange Basford. I think it is Samual Strange Basford since his mothers name was Lydia Sellers Strange. This would make some sense, I think.

Also, Idon't know if Lydia's middle name was a previous married name or if it was actually a middle name. Not too many people with a common name like Sellers.
