Well, let's hope that Geocities is through moving things around now and will allow me to actually upload these pages tonight. Or should I say morning as it is just after midnight? Because Geocities was being such a pain, I decided that a day away from the internet would be fine. (I was going to say away from the computer--except that I did play a game of Monopoly for a while.) I had to finish a book this morning anyway. I finished reading M.C. Beaton's Death of a Charming Man. I wanted to finish it before my trip to the library this afternoon. Of course, I took out too many books. That's my usual course of action in the library anyway. Since I've been home, I've read The 2000 Year Old Man in the Year 2000 by Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner (amusing--but, not as amusing as the blurbs would allow you to believe) and M. C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin and the Vicious Vet I have 3 other M.C. Beaton books out and after reading those, I believe I will have read all the books written by her that our little library has. I took out 3 books by an author that was recommended by someone in an email. A couple of Cat Who books by Lillian Jackson Braun and 2 other mysteries finish up the list of mysteries that I checked out today. I also checked out a new book that I'm not giving a title to here because I've forgotten it and if I have time, I will reread Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. I was reading a diary and clicked on a link to a column at Salon Magazine. After reading the article, I went to the archives of the columns and read almost a years worth of Anne Lamott's columns. Then I checked out the only book that I could find in our library that was written by her. I don't recall the name right now. I just remember that it was her fourth novel.
With Delton's assistance, I finally got UPN to come in on my television. The tape of Star Trek Voyager that I did on Wednesday messed up badly and looked really bad to start with. So, I got out a new tape and retaped this week's episode-- A Year in Hell, Part I. What I will need help remembering this week is to tape Deep Space Nine. I really don't want to miss the wedding of Worf and Jadzia. Well, I have to be off. I have to bake tomorrow morning. My sister couldn't resist getting me involved in a survey of margarines. I was given 2 boxes of margarine who's only label was 'use first' and 2 boxes labeled 'use second.' They will be calling at 11 tomorrow morning to hear the results. Oh, I almost forgot. We've had our Thanksgiving turkey for over a month now. When I bought a package of turkey sausage last week, I didn't notice the label that said there was a contest and that there would be a notice inside the package. I opened the package and inside was a coupon for a free turkey! I was shocked! I always get the 'sorry, try again' coupons. I finally won something! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
