Well, I received a nice letter from the teacher saying that, while she may consider something just an assignment, she could understand that it may seem questionable to others. She suggested that other questions could be used instead. So that's what we did. I slept poorly last night. But, it was my own fault. I was listening to a radio talk show while playing a video game. I tuned in about a half hour into the show. Well, actually, I was trying to find the oldies station when I stumbled past a station while someone was saying, "JFK". Since I have held the opinion that the assassination was NOT done by Oswald since 1968, I was interested in hearing what was being said. (In 1968, it was the fifth year since the assassination, I was 16 years old and I read everything that I could find about the subject.) Of course, I had to turn back to the station and here what was being said. What I heard just confirmed my belief that Oswald wasn't the assassin. A url was given for JFK Lancer Productions, a place where you can find a lot of stuff about the assassination. The discussion with David Lifton about his book, Best Evidence, and the phone calls went on for hours. I fell asleep more than once during the show which lasted past 4AM. And I got up at 5! I had forgotten that this year was the 35th year since the assassination. I wonder if PBS will do what they did 5 years ago--replay the live coverage of the events that weekend. I taped it so that when the kids were old enough to watch it or do a report on the subject for school, it would be available. Somehow, the tape got smashed. This belief that Oswald is "innocent" (put in quotes because, at first, I thought he was hired by Ruby to assassinate Connelly...now, I'm leaning more to the idea that he was a plant) caused a question to form yesterday when I was watching the Believer's Voice of Victory broadcast. First, I had been skeptical of Kenneth Copeland in the past. But, I am convinced that he is sincere in his love of the Lord. A nyway, yesterday's broadcast (actually, this entire week) was about endtime events. This is something that I have been studying on and off for about 14 years. The guest this week is Charles Capps. Now, Mr. Capps has been going on and on about this Bible Code. Supposedly, you can unlock the secrets in the Bible by using a code of equal distance between the letters of Hebrew alphabet. (When dealing with the Bible, it helps to remember that no vowels were in the Bible.) He claimed that the Oklahoma bombing was in the Bible and that Oswald was in there as the assassin that was assassinated. Hey, wait just a minute! Oswald didn't shoot Kennedy! Is this a misrepresentation? Did the Lord use this because that's what many people believe? Or is this Bible Code wrong? Well, I looked up the Bible Code on the internet. While it's a nice thought, the evidence is there that the code can be manipulated. On the other hand, the evidence did not come from the Torah--or first five books of the Bible. Mr. Capps was quite clear that tradition holds that only the Torah was encoded. So, the jury is still out on this one. It's leaning toward disbelief, but, it's not 100% yet. A lot of this week's teaching is not necessarily news to me. Remember? I've been studying this for quite a few years now. The signs are in place. But, as Jesus said, "No one knows the hour or the day." BACK HOME NEXT |
