Here are some tips on 'How to save money for Adoption' from some of the members of 123-Help-Adopt.

Lauren suggests:
I had a garage sale this summer to clean out the future baby room and all proceeds went into the adoption fund. Also, many people don't know about the tax credit, and/or adoption assistance from work. My employer offers a benefit of $2,000!

Stacey says:
We actually had a bake sale at work, everyone baked something, all proceeds
go toward our adoption. We had a garage sale too, friends donated stuff to
be sold. We did a car wash, with friends and family. If you belong to a
church, sometimes they will help with this kind of stuff too. We were trying
to think of clever ways of earning money, while letting people know it was
for a good cause. Seemed to work out okay, and was a lot of fun in the
process, now everyone wants to know when the baby is coming home.

Bill says:Save money? What is that? Hey, we borrow money for everything else, so why not for a child? If you are into saving tax dollars, a home improvement equity loan is the way to go. I can't think of a better home improvement than adding a
child, can you?

Connie Suggests:For those in the military, there is an Adoption Reimbursement program. Find out more at NMFA.

Rebecca says:Why not throw yourself a baby shower? (Or have a good friend or family
member do it for you.) And on the invitation, ask everyone to contribute to
your adoption fund instead of a baby gift. I did this for a friend and
everyone was MORE than happy to pitch in! (And we had a great time chatting
about adoption and kids in general-- and had some delicious desserts too!!).

Connie Says:Say your quarters (or your dollar bills) in a few containers. Don't ever spend them, pick a quarter or dollar, and put it right away. When you can splurge, go buy yourself a few rolls of quarters...
