Thank you Aunt Molly

In Jan. of 1998
our daughter went to her doctor for her yearly check-up. She returned home with tears in her eyes,
her doctor infromed her that she has Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia.
At 36 she has not really gotten to enjoy her life. It is a hardship on everyone in the family.
Those that are plagued with this, know of its disasterous effects.

For this reason I want everyone to become aware of the sorrows,
and hardships it will put on a family.
We all need to become more informed on this dreadful disease.

I have several sites that I visit now, and I am trying to learn all I can.
The people that I talk with are very supportive and caring,
and well informed as most are what they term as survivors.
They have been there, done that, and are doing everything to help people cope with each day.

"STACY WITH HAIR"

Our daughter wanted this last picture of us all together. She said "Remember me with hair".
On Monday June 15,1998 Stacy will start her marrow transplant.
At that time she will loose all of her hair and wanted to be remembered by all with her hair.

"We love you Stacy"

On June 24th Stacy went through the final infussion of her transplant.
As expected she is very sick but all has gone well.
The dangers, of the dreaded "HOST INFECTION" will show up in the next 12 to 14 days.
The greatest fear is that her body will not accept the new marrow. Only God knows right now,
but our prayers, and those of the many friends here,
will pull her through.

Thank all of you for your kind words and prayers.
May God send a special blessing to all of you.
Love from us to you
Bill and Cindy

MARROW ANGEL

Place this on your webpage help spread the need

On July 13th Stacy was moved to the Hope Lodge to start her recovery process.
This was 4 weeks ahead of her schedule to be released from the hospital.
Here she will spend the next 100 days in the recovery unit.
A nurse will visit her daily to administer her medication and clean out the tube inserted in her chest
(this is for giving the medication directly to the heart)
All of her counts have gained in number much faster then normal.
Even her doctors are amazed at her quick comeback.
I would like to think that is all the prayers from our wonderful friends,
and that they had a hand in this, So we want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
A very beautiful lady told me, when Stacy first went to Cleveland,
"Bill put your trust in God, and pray. Prayers can do many things."
We have prayed and you see the results.
Thank you Molly for the wonderful advise.

Today is August 1 and one of the greatest joy a family could have for this day.
Stacy was released from Hope Lodge after only 19 days in recovery.
Her doctors can't believe her recovery at this alarming rate, but we can.
Those prayers have been answered for us. Her counts have tripled in those 19 days,
as this was the figures that they had set for her to be released. She will sill have
to return to the hospital on a regular basis to get her checkups, but she is able to do
things now that she was restricted from doing.
She will still have to wear the mask, but can go out side with little restrictions, mainly no big crowds.
Again we want to thank all of you that have kept Stacy in your prayers.
May God reward all of you with special blessings.

This is the 13th of August Not once has our little girl ever complained.
No, I'm sick, no, hey I hurt, never has she showed any fear, or let us see that she is in pain, or ill.

A person I know, has e-mailed us everyday to check on Stacy.
Her concern and prayers have helped us in many ways,
more then she will ever know.
Today she sent us something to give to our daughter. This has put tears in an old mans eyes,
but tears of happiness, as I know that this came from the bottom of her heart.
No medicine will ever be better then this.
Thank you Molly, my sis.

It has turned into another year and all is well for our daughter. It has been 4 1/2 months now and she is doing very well. On her visit to the doctor a week before Xmas, she was informed that her test results came back from Texas and they found no traces of her cancer. No way does this mean that she is cured, but it does mean that the transplant did take and her chances now of going into remission are greater.
OH by the way, she is growing hair and I can no longer call her my little skinhead. We still kid her about the hair bit, but she does a good job of getting back at us.
Nobody will ever know how much all of your prayers and well wishes have helped us through these rough times. We thank all of you from our hearts that you were there when we needed a strong shoulder.
BIG HUGS to all

It is now almost a year since I first started this page, and there is still hope. Stacy did contact the dreaded Host infection, which is very common to all cancer patients. This infection will do many bad things, one that has happened to Stacy is that her kidney has started to shut down, and if left will soon take her life. We are confident that the new medicines that the Cleveland Hospital is now using will curb this problem. She will again have to make a stay at Cleveland to keep tabs on the progress. But we know that the power of prayer will prevail.

Well here it is the middle of September, and our prayers are answered once again. I thank all of you who have kept your prayer line open to us, for without it we could not be here with all the good news we have.
Stacy did go to Cleveland for her testings, but was sent back home. Her doctors sent her some new medication to try and it worked, no more kidney problem. My heart still tells me that it is this wonderful power of prayer that does all. She is now back to work full time and feeling great.
As I sit here typing, I get tears in my eyes to think of all of the people who have taken the time to send Stacy the well wishes that have been sent, and those of you who have faith in God's power of prayer, who have had a helping hand in Stacy's progress. Thanks everyone, you have made an old man very happy.

April,10 2001
It is with much sorrow that I report that Stacy has lost her battle of life. she contacted that dreaded "Graft verses Host" and it took its toll on her internal organs. She fought a strong fight all the way, but God had another plan for her.We must go on and be strong for her memories will always be with us. Thanks to all who has followed her plight. May God send a special angel to watch over those that are left behind.
In surfing the net for information I entered a page
and I felt an odd feeling, something I can not explain.
I went through several pages and
->bang<-
there it was, I read about a devoted artist, who is inflicted with this dreaded killer.
I have one of her pictures and am displaying it here.
I dedicate it to her, so please do not take it.

Here is a well written journal of a lady who is recovering from her transplant.
It is one that tells it all.

A Special Prayer For You

I thought about you today, And I said a special prayer.
Life isn't easy for you right now, So I asked God to take care.

Living so far away from you, It's impossible for me to be there.
But in my heart I am able to, By sending you a caring prayer.

I prayed for you to have strength, To get through this difficult time.
I told God that I was very willing, For Him to give you some of mine.

I asked for you to be doing better soon, As you are so important to me.
And as I did, I felt His warm smile, Knowing He will do this for me, so gladly.

With a special prayer from my heart, I hope you will feel better each new day.
And with God's love embracing you, My prayer to you, will find it's way.

This was sent to my family, as we have ventured to Cleveland
to be with our daughter, who just had a bone marrow transplant.
We treasure this with all of our hearts, for we know
that this prayer will be answered.

Thank You Molly and family
