William Hall
Lunenberg County Virginia
Will of 1753
Below is the Will of William Hall of Lunenberg County Virginia. Lunenberg was the parent county of Pittsylvania and Halifax County. Anthony Hall (1752-1846) was stated to have been born in Virginia. I searched through a number of Virginia wills to find him mentioned. Anthony Hall was found in only one will, but it was not my family's Anthony.
In the name of God Amen, viz. That I, William Hall of the County of Lunenberg, being sick of body but of a perfect mind and memory, blessed be to God for it, viz. First I command my soul to God and my body to decently buried. Then I give to my son, Thomas Hall ten pewter dishes, for what's already been gotten, one large gallon basin and one potell basin and one saddle mare and all her infras. And to the said Thomas and his sons forever. Then I give to my Granddaughter Silball Hall one small feather bed, one sheet, one blanket quilt and to her and her heirs forever. Then I give to my son Moses Hall, one Negro feller named Dick. And all the rest of my worldly goods to him and his heirs forever. I do make this my last will and testament, making void of all other wills by me forever. Witness my hand this twelfth day of January one thousand seven hunard and fifty-three.
