FIP= FELINE INFECTIOUS PERITONITIS:

This disease is one of the most deadliest diseases to a cat. it is passed cat to cat. sometimes there are no obvious symptons shown. Sometimes they will show symptoms such as fever, weight loss, depression, swelled belly and loss of appetite. The best to prevent this disease is to keep your cat from coming in contact with cats infected. The vaccine for this virus is a modified live virus once you vaccinate your cat it will have a positive result if tested. FIP IS A VIRUS WORTH TAKING TIME TO UNDERSTAND.
Fip is a coronavirus all cats are exposed to the corona virus at one time or another depending on the imune system of your cat depends on the form it will take. (for example everyone is exposed to the flu. There are different strains of the flu virus and depending on how your imune system is depends on how you will be effected and what strain you get.) Current information suggests that that fip is an immune-mediated disorder, meaning the disease is not caused from the unsuccessful efforts of the immune system to elimanate it.

TRANSMISSION:
It is likely that most fip infections result from ingestion of the virus. close contact with an infected cat or its excreta(probally feces) seems to be required for effient virus transmission.

MILD FIP: cats exposed to the coron virus will have mild upset stomach and they fightof the virus.

MAJOR FORMS:

Effusive form (wet fip) in which fluid accumulation forms occurs in the abdonimal and/or chest cavities.
Noneffusive form (dry fip) in which the disease process localizes in one or miore organs - kidneys,liver central nervous sysytem ,or eyes -with little or no wet accumilation.
