In 1792, he drowned in a flash flood in the Ogeechee River returning home from his brothers. Lewis's brothers, Hardy and Issac, moved to Alachua Co, Fl. in 1820. Hardy died in 1840.
Benjamin moved from Bullock Co, Ga to Madison Co, Fl. before 1840, the exact date is unknown as Florida was not yet a state. Benjamin's name is on the petition for Florida to become a state.
