Johann Adam Kettenring was born in 1658 in Landstuhl, Germany. He was the son of Hans Jacob Kettenring and Anna Maria __________. Johann died on 5 August 1702 in Landstuhl, Germany at the age of 44. He married Anna Maria Faul on 30 September 1687 in Pirmasens, Germany. She was born 26 June 1663 in Pirmasens, Germany. She was the daughter of Ebert Faul and Anna Anstatt. Anna died on 25 April 1730 in Lemberg, Germany, at the age of 66. They had 3 children:
1. Eva Katharina Kettenring, born 1687, died 19 March 1757
2. Johann Jacob Kettenring, born 19 April 1691, died 12 January 1742
3. Johann Balthasar Kettenring, born 29 October 1694, died 1 February 1745
