LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Dear FCFC,

May God bless you for all the hard work you are doing. I went to the Catholic book store and bought the book Call of the Ages. This book was a real eye-opener. Page after page, blasphemy after blasphemy. It’s so hard to believe I and my wife were caught up in it. We too thought it was great that Mary was appearing around the world, telling people to love Jesus.

We would tell friends and be proud to be a Catholic, “Mary is appearing around the world, we must be the real church of God.” But once you start to read the things Mary is saying you realize it can not be Mary for 1 Tim.1:5 says:

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus....”

Acts 4:12 says:

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

But Mary is saying only through her is there salvation (WRONG). As I told you before, I went to a Prophecy Seminar, and was shocked to find out the Catholic church was the Great Harlot of Revelation 17:

“Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot [Roman Catholic church] who sits on many waters [waters explained in Rev.17:15 as multitudes of people and nations and tongues] with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

So as you can see all the kings of the nations will commit fornication with her. Which is happening today. Many leaders have met with the Pope and bowed down and kissed his ring, along with many Christian leaders. To continue:

“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness [which is the wilderness of Rev.12:14 (the woman is the church)] and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour [the colours of RCC], and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman [church] drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. [all the early Christians killed by the Catholic church for following the Bible] And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.”

You may go on to read the rest of the chapter for yourselves. I thought it was interesting to know the Vatican sits on seven hills (verse 9). I never realized that the Bible, if you read it, will tell you everything you need to know for your salvation. I guess that is why the Catholic church does not promote the reading of the Bible. My parents are still in the Catholic church. My mother talked to the priest about us. The priest said they could come to our church to see my daughter in a play on creation, but if my church started to teach what we believe, she would have to leave. I guess the priest is afraid they may find the truth. I could go on forever, there is so much in the Bible, and you can understand it too. In Rev.18:4 we read:

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

I thank Jesus for getting me out of the Roman Catholic church. Please keep up the good work. I pray for you and your work. I believe the time is short and we must work fast on behalf of Jesus to tell the truth! God Bless!!

Chuck, B.C. Canada

Dear Chuck,

Praise Jesus two more precious souls have been given their spiritual eyes and ears!

Yes, you’re right, the Bible contains everything pertinent to our knowing Jesus and His salvation, and how to accept His gift which brings life eternal.

“And that from a child thou hast known THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, WHICH ARE ABLE TO MAKE THEE WISE UNTO SALVATION through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE PERFECT, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Ti.3:15-17) (Emphasis mine)

It’s easy to understand how Catholics can so easily accept “Mary’s” appearances: (1) They are conditioned to see Mary as something more than human. The Roman church has gradually elevated her to the status of a goddess through the unbiblical proclamations of the Immaculate Conception (not Christ being born of a virgin, but Mary being conceived without sin) and the Assumption (Pope Pius, made an ex-cathedra pronouncement on Nov.1, 1950 that Mary was raised soon after she died, her body and soul reunited and taken up to be enthroned as the “Queen of Heaven”). The next proclamation being debated is Mary as “co-redemptress and co-mediatrix” (see 1 Tim.2:5). (2) Most Catholics don’t study their Bible. If they did, they would be able to see the discrepancies between what this “Mary” is saying and what the word of God says. The scriptures warn us repeatedly to beware of false prophets who perform great signs and wonders (transubstantiation is a good example...the creature creating the Creator out of a piece of bread) to deceive the elect, IF it were possible, which it is not. For we who are saved by His grace partake of His Spirit (1 Jn.4:13) which leads us through the maze of deceit and hypocrisy into all truth. (Jn.16:13) You and your wife are now part of the elect as God has called you into His marvellous light! (1 Pet.2:9- 10)

Those who continue to malign and distort the truth will suffer a severe judgment:

“...because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thess.2:10-11)

We agree with you in prayer, time is short and we must try to warn as many as we can before Jesus comes to take us home. (1 Thess.4:16-18)

Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

Debbie Rucker

Dear Readers,

I am a Catholic. I am very shocked to hear all this anti-Mary information. I have a few points to make.

Firstly, Catholics do not worship Mary as if she were God. “...Holy Mary, Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death....” We ask Mary for her prayers!!! During the final minutes of my life, I will feel at peace knowing that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is saying a prayer for me.

The most important point is that God has given us his Word through the scriptures, through his Son and through many Prophets and Saints. Let’s not get caught up in the fine print. Through prayer, fasting, holy scripture and sacraments, I have started on a path towards faith, hope and love. I have been able to strengthen my resistance to the temptations of sin and I am not looking back.

Satan has one goal, and that is to turn souls away from God. I have not read much of this “good newsletter,” but there is one thing that concerns me greatly. It is the comment about Jesus already paying for our sins. This sounds like a deceptive way of saying it is OK to sin since the price has been paid already.

God, deliver us from Evil. Amen

A Concerned Catholic

Dear Concerned Catholic,

Having God’s Spirit dwelling in us negates any need for additional prayers when we’re leaving this life. Christ has already sanctified us throught the truth. (Jn.17:17) He said His word was truth, not the proclamations of fallible men. We “...are washed...sanctified [and]... justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Cor.6:11) We are made holy (sanctified) by the Sprit dwelling in us, teaching, guiding and chastening, as we read His word.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (Jn.1:12)

You are correct when you say, “Satan has one goal...to turn souls away from God.” There are so many ways this can be accomplished. One way is contradicting the Bible and making it sound plausible. For example, your last paragraph denies the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus to be enough to secure our salvation. In effect, what you are saying is Christ couldn’t do it, but you can.

Jesus said he came to “...do the will of him that sent me, and to FINISH HIS WORK”. (Jn.4:34; 5:36; 17:4) (Emphasis mine) The price was paid when Jesus cried on the cross, “IT IS FINISHED....” (Jn.19:30) (Emphasis mine)

No one here denies that a person who is born-again of the Spirit will perform good works. These come as a result of Jesus working through you to accomplish His will in your life and the lives of others.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. For WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:8-19) (Emphasis mine)

What we do deny is that these works are what qualifies you for entrance to heaven.

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” (Rom.11:6)

Your concerns that our teaching “Jesus Christ paid the full price” gives us a license to sin, should fade in light of the fact we ask Catholics to repent of their idolatries and blasphemies, rather than allowing them to die in thier sins. We do not believe in turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness. (Jude 4) If you were familiar with our work, you would know we believe and teach repentence for all sin. Be they Catholic, Protestant, Hindu, Buddhist, Moslem, Jehovah’s Witness or Mormon, etc., they all must repent (turn away from) their sins and accept the blood sacrifice of Jesus to cleanse them from all sin. (1 Jn.1:7) No exceptions. The Bible is clear that sin brings forth death. (Js.1:15) We are assured “...we have passed from death unto life....” (1 Jn.3:14) if we have accepted the gift of salvation wrought for us by a merciful Lord.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?...Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” (Rom.6:1-2 & 11-14)

We pray God delivers you from evil.

Respectfully,

Debbie Rucker

Dear FCFC,

My name is David Peery. I belong to 39th St. Church of Christ. Thank you for your web site. I printed some info hoping to rescue some of my family members from the Catholic church. I have talked myself to death trying to get them to see the truth and leave the Catholics but I have yet to convince them. Myself, a former Catholic, I can say your material is accurate and when someone compares the Catholic church to the Bible’s church it is different as night and day, or even worse, heaven and hell. Thank you again.

David

Dear David,

We applaud your efforts to rescue your family. Talking from experience, in our zeal we sometimes try to do the work of the Holy Spirit. Our task is simply to speak the gospel to those within our reach. Paul explains this in 1 Cor.1:17 and 2:4-5;

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect...And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

No amount of arguing, cajoling or sophistry is necessary for someone’s conversion. The gospel is to be presented truthfully. When this is done, the person then acts on faith, by believing, as God circumcises his heart, or he remains in unbelief and hardens his heart.

Jesus desires obedience through love, we obey because we love Him and want to do what is pleasing to Him, not because He forces us.

Stand firm in the faith Christ has blessed you with. Be bold in proclaiming the word of truth and pray the Lord delivers them from their bondage.

“In your patience possess ye your souls.” (Lk.21:19)

In His Grace and Mercy,

To all Former Catholics For Christ...and all in the Body:

All Praise and Glory to the Lamb that was slain!! My wife and I have just recently gone online with our new computer. We were able to access this web site through the “Mission To Catholics” site.

My wife recently came out of the Roman Catholic System of bondage after having been in it for 40 years and having been the head organist of the largest R.C. church here in Tacoma, WA. for 17 years. We bless the Lord our God so much for a Mighty Witness such as FCFC. Having read a few of the articles (and copied them thru our copier) by Becky and Diane that speak so clearly of the Truth that God has given us in His Word, we are excited and thrilled that we can Stand Together and be Valiant For Truth.

I just finished reading the letter from Michael Scotto in reference to his Mother and the false prophets - Pat Robertson, Colson, Van “Empty”, et al. Of necessity, there must also be mentioned the manifold apostasy of William Franklin Graham. He has done as much or more to destroy the Faithful Witness of Truth for the past 50 years than any other singular “supposed” Bible believing personality. Whethre he has gone a whoring after the error of Balaam or definitively believed the Lie of II Thes.2, because he has not received the Love of the Truth, we do not know. But the results are the same. The recent coming forth of “Promise Keeper” is all tied in together with ECT and the “Falling away from the Truth”. Our Mandate from our Lord to “occupy till I come” and “he that endures to the end shall be Saved” is becoming more and more pertinent. OH LORD, SHOW THYSELF MIGHTY IN OUR MIDST!!

I have just finished reading the article on “Auricular Confession”. It was very good. May I please suggest that you give the address where the book by Charles Chiniquy, Fifty Years In The Church of Rome, can be purchased. It is without a doubt one of the best and most authoritative books that has ever been written.

We Love you all much and look forward to the time when we can Know Him even as we are Known and to Worship Him about His Throne here on earth. KEEP ON KEEPING ON IN JESUS!!!

For the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus with Much Love,

Theora & Ellis Mickey

Dear Theora and Ellis,

What a beautiful letter! It is so encouraging to hear words such as these.

We agree on the false prophets, especially regarding Billy Graham. Most of the “preachers” out there are pretty obvious in their heresies, but it seems as though Graham’s ministry has been much more carefully orchestrated. Nonetheless, his unscriptural doctrines have been peeking out with ever-increasing regularity.

We pray that God uses you both (and your new computer) to reach multitudes for His glory.

To FCFC:

I do not totally understand what being a Catholic is, nor do I understand everything about the Catholic church, even though I have been a member all my life. I have been in the printing business for nearly 40 years, and I do not understand all of it. Should I then find another line of work? I believe everyone needs to find their own way to God, and my way is the Catholic Church.

John Alberg

Dear John,

Thank you for writing FCFC. No one understands “all of it”. There are scriptures that are difficult, but we are commanded to:

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim.2:15)

If done in faith, you will learn. At first, He’ll teach you about salvation. He’ll give you milk:

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby....” (1 Pet.2:2)

You will then be able to handle the meat, as the Lord gives you understanding. Heb.5:13-14 tells us:

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Your statement “...everyone needs to find their own way...my way is the Catholic church” shows a rebellious attitude toward a Saviour who told you very plainly He was the ONLY way!

“Jesus saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME." (Jn.14:6) (Emphasis mine)

You are trusting in a man-made system to get you to heaven, while disobeying the only One who can take you there. Prov.16:25 reminds us:

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Jeremiah 17:9-10 says:

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”

If you will pray to Jesus only, to open your heart so you can have a personal relationship with Him, He’ll answer your prayer. He is faithful. (2 Thess.3:3)

“Let no man deceive you with vain words.” (Eph.5:6-7)

SANTA/SATAN. Keep up the fight against this monster!

Even being ignorant of the history of this clown, we should avoid it just for the fact that we are telling lies to our children.

Good work! People will hate you for telling the truth but tell them anyway!

David Gibson

Dear David,

Than you for writing. We have more people who are upset about the Christmas and Santa issue than the more urgent concerns of salvation, the Christian walk and the proselytization of the world. Go figure.

Tradition usually runs roughshod over Bible doctrine and common sense. I’d like you to have this quote from one extremely interesting book, The Illuminati Formula Used To Create An Undetectable Total Mind Controlled Slave. The authors, Fritz Springmeir & Cisco Wheeler, state on 275:

“The power of the lie has to be preserved and fueled by tradition, which is manifested via rituals. Without tradition, the power of the lie would die out.”

Yes, some people hate the truth so much they also hate the messenger. This is of no account to us. We knew by scripture that the time had come:

“...when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Tim.4:3-4)

The symbol of Santa Claus should make everyone take a closer look. In Texe Marrs book, Mystery Mark of the New Age, he says:

“Symbols, then are tools by which Satan seduces and controls man’s mind. New Age authority Alice Bailey showed a keen understanding of this when she wrote that ‘a symbol is an outer and visible sign of an inner and spiritual reality.’” (121)

Knowing Santa is not God (although he imitates His attributes) what is he in spiritual reality? There is only one answer.

Praise the name of Jesus!

To FCFC:

I didn’t want to BELIEVE it! I had hoped that my own father’s dis-belief was just that: confined to one man! And yet, I now see that , in spite of everything I may say or do to try to prove otherwise, people like my own father have joined in the rebellious flood that Martin Luther set loose in 1517.

I’d hoped and prayed that God might open your eyes, minds and hearts so that you’d relent, and repent of your apostasies, and blasphemies. Now, however, I see that my prayers were in vain. I’m too late to save you!

A Catholic from the Net

Dear Catholic,

Believe it! The command of God to “Come out of her, my people” is being heard by thousands of Catholics a year who have come to trust in the words of God rather than the words of men. Your father was one of the blessed ones who accepted the free gift of eternal life and in so doing will not suffer the wrath of God and the coming judgment on the “great whore” (Roman Catholicism). (Rev.18)

Martin Luther was not the first to depart from Romanism. There is a most “noble army of ‘heretics’” as Dr. Bill Jackson so well penned in his book by the same title. Such Christian groups as the Waldenses, Albigenses, Hugenots, Anabaptists, etc., all rejected the idolatrous counterfeit religion for the true faith.

John Wycliff, born around 1320 in Yorkshire, England was, in his day, the “ablest scholar at Oxford University” and was considered by some to be the “morning star” of the Reformation. Martin Luther was not around until much later. Wyclff :

“...denied the infallibility of the Roman Church in doctrine, and rejected many of the rising practices of the papal church - confession, purgatory, pilgrimages, and veneration of saints and relics. These, he stated are all unscriptural” (The Noble Army of “Heretics”, Jackson, 74).

Quotations from Wycliff’s sermons given in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs (a book I highly recommend) indicate his belief that:

“The holy eucharist, after the consecration, is not the very body of Christ...the Pope of Rome hath no more the keys of the Church than hath any other within the order of the priesthood...The Church of Rome is not the head of all churches more than any other church is; nor that Peter had any more power given of Christ than any other apostle had” (The Noble Army of “Heretics”, Jackson, 75).

Wycliff also taught:

“...the persecuting ‘little horn’ of Daniel found fulfillment in the papacy which arose out of the fourth kingdom, Rome...‘Why is it necessary in unbelief to look for another Antichrist?...In the seventh chapter of Daniel, Antichrist is forcefully described by a horn arising in the time of the fourth kingdom...wearing out the saints of the most High’...His book, The Mirror of Antichrist, is filled with references to the Pope as Antichrist”(The Noble Army of “Heretics”, Jackson, 75).

God has called out His people throughout the ages to depart from this system. Martin Luther was one more voice, as your father’s, warning others that Rome had departed from the Bible and embraced pagan superstition and adulterated herself.

I implore you to pray to Jesus and ask Him to show you the truth.

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Lk.11:9-13)

Sit down with your father and listen to the scriptures he gives to support his new-found faith. Search the Bible and see if you can find Rome’s doctrines in there to support your beliefs. Trust God!

One last point, you cannot save anyone. Jesus already did that when he paid the price for our sins at Calvary. And the Lord said:

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified...This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sins.” (Heb.10:14, 18)
