A friend of mine shared a story of one Jewish woman, Sharon Allen, and her struggle to deal with who Jesus was. While studying the Masoretic text she discovered a hidden message in Genesis 5 that convinced her that Jesus was truly the promised One, and converted her to Christianity.
I would like to share this with our readers as it was given to me. In Genesis 5:1-30 we have the geneology from Adam to Noah. Each name has a meaning in the Hebrew language and as any student of the bible, we know that names or name changes can be very significant. The meaning of each name is as follows:
Adam = man
Seth = is appointed
Enos = mortal
Cainan = sorrow
Mahalaleel = the blessed God
Jared = shall come down
Enoch = teacheth
Methuselah = his death shall bring
Lamech = the despairing
Noah = comfort and rest
When you read the meaning of the names as a sentence you get:
“Man is appointed mortal sorrow, but the blessed God shall come down and teacheth. His death shall bring the despairing comfort and rest.”
The gospel was hidden in the geneology! And that’s not all that was hidden. There is a new book out called The Yeshua Factor by Yacob A. Rambsel in which he details the most amazing facts. Did you know that hidden in the Old Testament is the name of Yeshua (Hebrew name for Jesus, which means “salvation”) over 10,000 times? This amazing fact is just the beginning. They have found by taking every 3rd or 7th letter in the Hebrew manuscript, Textus Receptus, which comes from Antioch (using the manuscripts that the newer versions come from - Alexandria, Egypt, does not produce the same results) that there are messages hidden all through the Old Testament.
In Leviticus 17 where it speaks of the blood as an atonement for the soul they found hidden this message: “By the blood of Yeshua”.
In the following verse, Proverbs 30:4, they found hidden, “Yeshua, the gift”.
“Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?”
Those who know the word of God also know Jesus answered this question in John 3:13:
“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”
The amazing thing about The Yeshua Factor is that the findings were given to Statistical Science, John-Hopkins University, Yale and Harvard Universities, and not one of them could dispute the findings.
Perhaps to some unbelieving person out there, this could be a turning point. I have heard that many Jews are being converted because of it.
I am amazed by people who ask “Who wrote the bible”? I am even more amazed by those who doubt the prophesies and their fulfillment that testified of our salvation and He who would effect it. Just consider that Jesus did not add new doctrines to the Old Testament, He fulfilled the promises already prophesied. Read Isa.53 and Ps.22 and tell me who you think really wrote that!
“Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.” (I Pet.1:9-12)
“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith....” (Rom.16:25-26)
Even when I was a Catholic, I believed that the bible was the word of God and I believed that Catholicism was founded on that truth. I was deeply saddened when I found out that Rome had rejected the testimony of God and built herself on another foundation -“tradition”. Yet the bible was very clear that the gospel of SALVATION was already there and that you could not add anything to it, nor did you need to, it was complete!
“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” (Gal.3:6-9)
It says in Rom.4:20-21 that Abraham:
“...staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith...being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
Our faith should be founded on the promises and prophesies of God through His word.
“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began”. (Tit.1:2)
