We had visited Vermont in all seasons and loved its mountains and lakes. When my husband retired that is where we went house hunting. My older daughter pointed us to the Northeast Kingdom which was about the only section in Vermont we hadn't seen. We found a house that met all our requirements and have been here for more than 28 years.
The house when we first saw it.
The house as it is now.
When we moved here we were 3 adults and 3 children plus a dog and 2 cats. Now the two of us share the house with 1 cat and a very large dog. Both of us seem to keep busy.
Allen, a skier for many years, has written a book on ski history entitled "New England &Thereabouts ..... A Ski Tracing." He is involved with the U.S.Ski and Snowboard Ass'n as it's National Ski Historian and administers the election to the National Ski Hall of Fame in Ishpeming, Michigan. He critiques writings on ski history.
I took up gardening and machine knitting. However the knitting stopped when I discovered computers. Now I spend a good deal of time composing web pages ( both Allen and I have one ), sending email and surfing the net. I have found a whole new world out there and it's fascinating ! I can correspond with people around the globe and visit universities and museums any place on earth. The information you can obtain is unlimited.

The road to town in the fall.
We are fortunate to have a lovely lake at the bottom of our hill. Crystal Lake provides us with swimming, boating and great fishing. It's a very pretty lake with a background of high hills and trees. In the fall it's fringed with splashes of gold, red and orange.
Another view of Crystal Lake.
And so here we are. Our corner of Vermont is truly beautiful with each change of season bringing new colors to the painting before us. Up here on our hill we can enjoy nature at its finest. Thank you for stopping by.
