Sharon formulated these unsolicited comments about the American welfare system based on her own independent Bible reading. She typed them up on the computer and then called me at work to read them to me over the phone. Obviously I was quite pleased with her insight and with how she grounded her thinking on the Bible. Sharon said that she had gotten the impression from everyone she knows that the current welfare system is bad, but she said she wasn't sure why until she read these verses in the Bible.
I think it's sad that a young child can so easily understand what the Bible clearly teaches, but so many of the adults who are leading our country are blind and rebellious with respect to its instruction.
