Angel's
Boot
Angel never got to race since she injured a back
foot in schooling and will always walk with a bit of a limp. It
appears that she has a dropped arch along with other problems
(possible broken bones) in her foot. Here are two pictures
showing what her foot looks like. When she would walk, one part
of her leg/foot (that should not normally come in contact with
the ground) would touch the ground and get all cut open and
become quite painful.

A very dear racing owner friend <Thank You
Auntie Gail> suggested that Angel might benefit from wearing a
special boot for walking or standing on hard surfaces. We have
tried the boot with greyt success. Angel can now walk with a
hardly noticeable limp and keep up nicely with Pipp & Jazz
King. She has also started to develop more muscle in that leg.

We passed that information along to the GREYHOUND-L
and had a few requests for more details. Here's a message we
received from one of the "Listers" that tried the boot
after reading our Post:
Do you remember me
<Anita> contacting you about this boot last August? I had a
foster dog missing a toe and a half so you filled me in on the
details
of the boot? Just thought you would be interested in how that
worked
out. TT's new mom bought him the boot and it is really helping
him. I
saw them at a reunion several weeks ago and he had his boot on.
The mom
is very pleased that he is now able to take longer walks without
limping. I am sure that TT is pleased with this ability too!
