What a Greyhound means to me:

Graceful and sleek. After you adopt, Please don't put too much weight on them. It can be hazardous to their health and well-being.

Running like the wind. They have been know to reach speeds up to 45 M.P.H. and can be up to full speed within the first few steps.

Eager to please. A sharp *NO* is enough to send them to their beds with their heads down in shame. Please: No *harsh* training methods.

Years of pleasure - since most greyhounds live to be 12-15 years old (which is long for a large breed). They are also not prone to hip dysplasia

Hound family of dogs. Greyhounds hunt by *sight* - they can spot prey up to 1/2 mile away. Please keep them leashed when not in a safely fenced area.

One won't be enough. You will want to have at least 2 (and then more). This is known as *Potato Chip Syndrome*. It is fascinating to watch them play together - they make up their own special Greyhound games.

Unending love and affection is what your Greyhound will give you in return for saving his life. They bond quickly and will follow you around the house like *Velcro* dogs - always wanting to be by your side.

Napping and snoozing are favorite past-times. That's why they are called *Couch Potatoes*

Dogs they may be - but far from ordinary. Mine are the most *human* of all breeds I have been owned by.
