I am a born and bread brummie - without the accent to prove it.
I was born in Marston Green Maternity Hospital in the summer of 1977 (now you can work out my age) in the east of Birmingham. My family moved when I was about three-years to the south-west suburb of Northfield (some places are inappropriately named).

At primary school I always used to love art - drawing and painting and was good as artimetic. Moving on to Secondary school I mixed art with science, taking Maths, Computer studies and General science alongside Graphic design and Design and communication. At A-level I was sadly forced into a fully scientific background and now study Mathematics and Computer Science at Aston university.

Since the age of 12 I've been programming computers. Starting off small, as all people should, by writing simple block/stick men games and finally coding in machine code with sprites. Over the years I've written many games, sadly not all have ever been completed and even fewer are really worth going on about.
There is a wonderful thing about programming that stems from man's desire to have a slave. Like the faithful dog - a computer will do anything you tell it to and that has got to be worth the effort of understanding it's language.

It only seemed natural that eventually I should get on the internet and write a web site. With so many hobbies in art and science, it is quite difficult to narrow down a few subjects to write some decent material on. I've managed to write a page on nearly all of my hobbies within this site, hopefully they explain why I bother doing them!

Career-wise I'm a bit stumped at the moment.
Like all students, I have a nervous twitch whenever someone mentions the 'work' word, and will try to avoid getting a job until the last minute.
I have aspirations to go on and do some research in the Mathematical or Computer Science area, but cannot say which particular aspect I want to research in as all areas are enjoyable.
Alternatively, I wouldn't mind working in the music business, as a songwriter or video director. I have a synthesizer at home and like writing songs. I hope, one day, to get round to buying a sequencer to compose music to a few of them.
If all else fails, I'd like to become a computer games designer. I've had many a good idea for a game, but writing a whole game by yourself takes alot of time and effort so many good ideas get thrown on the scrap heap.
