My grandmother, Anna Blue (b 1872) , moved from Canada as a
young girl and was brought up in Sault Ste Marie.
Although the family says she married a Richard Vaughn,
I have reason to believe that she had my father, John Vaughn,
out of wedlock in 1895.
I want to visit the Sault this summer and see if I can pick up
anything in old newspapers, high school records, etc, but hate
to make the trip if the resources aren't there.
Could someone advise me if such resouces are available.

I am trying very hard to find any the Knox family in Michigan around 1861. I have in my family tree a Martha Knox born 1861.
She was murdered by her husband Isaac Eagle in 1904. There was quite a sensational trial in Sault Ste. Marie. Mr. Eagle was convicted of murdering his wife and spent time in prison.
If there is anyone who can help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

WITHEE / STURDEVANT Researching Alvin Z. WITHEE who was in Sault Ste Marie in 1900, wife Jessie and daughter Grace. What was the maiden name of Jessie ? Where is the family in 1910? And what became of Jessie and Grace ? I believe I find A. Z. WITHEE in Detroit Michigan in 1920, but he is not with his family. It appears from the 1900 census that Jessie's sister Mary married a STURDEVANT, and was widowed by 1900. There are Sturdevants in Sault Ste Marie in 1902 and 1905/1907. What was the name of
Mary's husband, probably the father of Lee STURDEVANT who is also in the household in 1900, born August 1894 in Iowa. Both the WITHEE and STURDEVANT families in this census record came from Wisconsin.

my previous query stated that the above listed had all died in
1918/19 of influenza in Chippewa County, they actually had moved
to Sioux, (Soo?) Michigan and resided there at their time of death.
My grandmother Mary Springer was born February 26, 1904 and now
resides in Ontario, Canada. Her sisters Pearl and Zelphia were
younger than her and therefore born after 1904 in Rudyard.
