Building Your Faith Together

Hebrews 3:13

but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today",
lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

It is not so much that being married is hard,...but the powers of evil in this world are constantly seeking to destroy that which God has put together. Namely we speak about families. The best way to destroy the family is to destroy the very institution that makes a family; "Our Marriages"!

We can overcome the forces that seek to destroy our marriages by the constant building our faith together! The stronger our faith becomes, the stronger our armor to fight back! Husband and Wife must encourage one another every day to study the Word of God. Even if for the moment this means only 15 minutes each night before turning out the lights, make the time. Everyone can find 15 minutes! You may even find yourself wanting more time to study together! The power between a husband and wife that encourage each other in their faith together is awesome! A power you will need to experience to understand.

Unfortunately, there are those living with partners who fail to encourage each other. Some partners may even try to instigate the breaking of another's faith. When a partner tries to break another in their faith, for whatever reason, the result can be soul destroying! We must always remember if this happens that this is not from God! God wants you to have a joyous life with your mate. We must seek God ourselves even if our mate does not. Pray dilligently for the strenth to contine in your Christian walk. Pray for God to work through you to change the heart of your mate, but never stop being the example!

If you are attempting to hinder the faith of another you will not only hinder their ability to seek God, but you will be severely hindered in your relationship with God. This makes it impossible to receive the rewards of the Father! This is not a place for anyone to be!

1 Peter 3:7

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Peter indicates that a husband who fails to live with his wife in an understanding way and give her honor as a fellow child of God will damage his relationship with God by creating a barrier between his prayers and God! Husband's, how do you treat your wife? Is the spiritual oneness in your life together a priority and a primary duty to maintain in your home?

Lawrence J. Crabb, Jr wrote it so beautifully: Husbands and wives are to regard marriage as an opportunity to minister in a unique and special way to another human being, to be used of God to bring their spouses into a more satisfying appreciation of their worth as persons who are secure and significant in Jesus Christ.

Do you want your prayers answered? Are the two of you "heirs together of the grace of life"! Its never too late friends. Your relationship can be stonger beginning today. Trust God with your very life and soul. Seek Him in your life everyday. Seek Him in your lives together as husband and wife. Encourage each other to grow together in the Word. Be the "heirs of the grace of life"!

A Prayer for Building your Faith Together

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to thank you for our beautiful life together as Husband and Wife. Thank you for being the center of our lives, the one we look to each and every day. Help us Father to radiate our love for you within in our marriage. Let us always find the cherished time to be joined with You and feed our souls and our marriage with Your Word. Father, even though our days are busy, please gently remind us that it is You that made this marriage, and it is You that will sustain it. Thank you for your ever presence in our lives. In Jesus name we humbly pray.
Amen

Hebrews 10:22-25
Let us draw near with a true heart
in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience
and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,
as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another,
and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
