Work Organizing

I am starting a home web publishing business and now I have to be really organized. I started by making a designated time for office, actually a few times during the day since my children are young. I also split my work into administration (phone calls, letter writing etc), marketing and promotion, production(the actual web design), and finances(bookeeping, taxes, banking and client billing). Each day has a major focus so nothing gets left out. The major focus gets done first and then whatever other duties I have. In my planner I also have a separate page for each focus for to do's. I emptied out my file drawer and made a bunch of new files:for each of my clients, focuses, home business in general, and information to keep me up to date in what web design. My desk is already set up so I have quick access to things I need on a regular basis and other things are put away. I can put knick knacks, flowers, and photos on the very top of my desk because I am short. The top of the desk is out of reach for things I need daily but it is wonderful to look up from the computer and see these calming objects. I have a list of home business sites on my links page if you are interested in starting a home business or already have one.

O.K. Let's get to work!
