Simple Crafts Projects for Kids

Here you will find projects for young children that are fairly easy, but still may require some help from an adult (or older child)

Dribble String Art

Material needed

sample of this project

Instructions

  1. pour paint into cups
  2. put one piece of string in each cup (I taped masking tape tabs on the ends to keep them from slipping into the paint)let sit until paint soaks in (I helped it with a little stirring)
  3. place paper on work area
  4. slowly pull one string out, allowing for paint to drip off (you might have to drag it on rim a bit to keep excees paint from splattering)
  5. gently lower string onto paper, allowing it to "wiggle" and turn how ever it wants to, until all of the string is on the paper. Do not drag string along.
  6. lift string straight up off of paper and return to cup.
  7. repeat with other colors.
  8. set aside to dry, about 1 hour.
HINTS: if you use the lighest color first it will save that color from getting "contaminated" with darker colors.
Three colors is the best. (but it is your project so have fun)
OTHER IDEAS: This project would be very fun if done with fabric paints (thinned a bit) and T-shirts or tote bags, for kids.
