Tis the night
For Goblins and Ghosts.
Running door to door
To see who gets most.
Witches, Pumpkins
Pirates too.
Even a Dragon
To mention a few.
The knock at the door.
One, Two, Three ?
NO !! Four.
Excited little ones
Will enter for sure.
Trick or Treat
They will sing.
Some so loud
My ears will ring.
Their bags will be filled
With treats galore.
Until parents say
NO MORE ! NO MORE !
Tired little feet
Will soon head for home.
And no more streets
Will they roam.
They will empty their bags
For Mom and Dad to see.
Dad will ask
Is there a treat for me?
With goodies packed up
And all hidden away.
Kids will head to their bed
Thinking... What a good day.
