Dear Unkles, Aunts, cousins, relatives and friends
I now with pleasure embrace the present opportunity
of writing to you to inform you that we
are injoying common health at this time and
sincerly hoping these few lines will find you
enjoying the same blessing Dear Uncle we
received your letter which gave us no little
satisfaction to her from you all in that country

We received a letter not long since from John
Sears he is in missouri you stated that you
wanted me to write to you and let you know
where John Sears lived he lives in Missouri
Reynolds county Lesterville TC When they wrote
they were well he wrote that he lived in a
healthy country but he talked like that he
didnot expect to stay there but move on to
Arkansas I will also, further state that since
he moved out there his father in law has
died. I believe that I have given you a small
outline of the letter that Uncle John sent
us Dear Uncle I have some what neglected to
write to you but I believe this is sooner
than you wrote to me I have nothing of any
great interest to write to you we have had
tolerble crops in this country but they I
would have been if it had been seasonable
Corn is worth 20 cents per bushel pork is
worth $3.25 cents per hundred weight wheat 75
cents per bushel and other grain & produce
in about the same proportion We have
had a tolerable healthy fall and and
summer but there has been some contagious
diseases in country a distance from here

I have nothing that deserves much attention
to say about the railroad through here
only it has been runout one line of it
and they have drawn up bonds to the amount
of three hundred thousand dollars with good
secruity besides about 350 thousand dollars they
got by subscription the bonds that has been
drawn up is to be paid in fourteen years and
they have (the bonds) been sent north and south
for trading and it is allowed when they
get this money they will immediately strike
a bond and keep the silver and pay out
paper money for work
I have been going to school this fall and
I am now going to foumoths school at
school Hill near us I do not make much
progress but I learn something every once
in a while I am now old inough to begin
to think pretty well of the ladies but
I do not mingle in their society very often
but there is one that I sometimes have
a conversation with and many others that
as the saying is I cast sheeps eyes at

president there is but one thing that I
against Pierce and this is he voted for
roman catholics to have legible offices in
the state in which he lived but if he
makes a good president that idffereth
nothing give my best love and respects to
