In the summer of 1996 I was given 22 letters written between 1844 and 1881. They were written by relatives of my gg grandfather William Washington Sears.  These letters were full of information to expand the family members in the Sears line.

The letters also give a look into the lives of these individuals and what the hardships they endured were and the joys they had.  They also show the attitudes and philosphy's of the writers of the these letters.  The writers discuss politics of the day, religion, weather, crops, prices of goods, and prohibition.  There is one letter written from a soldier in the confederate army from Suffolk VA.
