write to you as she says
that they have gotten
a letter from you a bout
two years ago and have
neglected to answer it
and I love to Hear from
fareigh states I will write
with great Pleasure hoping
thtat that this letter
will Be welcomed a shen
it come to and find
you all well Gran Pa
and Mother is still able
for Navigation

the health of the
country is common by
good some few deaths about
aunt Margret Ann
wright the daught-
er of Janeral Johnson
has been in very poor
health for a bout 12 Months
with some thing like
the consumption she has
not been able to do any
thing and has been
confined to her bed
for some thing like 6
months as you Mention
in your letter for uncle
david to come to see
you he is in Ill and
I have not heared form
him for 3 Months him
and his wife was in
Bad health when he

wrote he shurly
Must Be unable
to write or dead for
he never has before fail
to answer My letters
Probly you have not
heared from him for some
time I will write you his

the rebel army at what
is called the mansfield
battle in louisana on the
8th day of April in
1864 you wanted to know
the nearest de po Lebanon
is the nearest it is 50 miles
from here the stage comes
from thare to Cookville

in 6 miles of where
gran Pa lives times is
hard here Money scerce
and the land Poor corn
crops is tolorable good
con sidern the dry weather

here worth 40 cts per Bu sheat
up to 75 cts Per bu Bacon
5 to 8 cts Per Pound and
other things in Perpotion
