Family Tree Maker (TM) FAQ 014
Is there a way to delete the tag "spouseless relationship" from the spouse listing?

There are two approaches:
  1. Delete the child(ren) from the spouseless relationship (which makes it go away), and then reattach them.
  2. Make the spouseless relationship into an ordinary relationship, then merge.

Only the second method will be treated here:
  1. Go to the spouseless relationship Family Page.
  2. Enter a fictitious name into the empty spouse's name field. I like to use the name "A", as it will be easier to find in the index later.
  3. Now merge "A" with the her image (spouse's other spouse). It is advisable to start with the real person: Click People/Merge Specific then find "A" as the person to merge. This insures that the facts (dates, etc.) are preserved.
Spouseless relationships
What are they?

This may be the only problem that can be solved by adding individuals. Usually, adding people that are already in your workspace is a recipe for confusion.
