The Foxden Legacy
The late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Farrell
Foxden Kennels 1934 - 1994
Darien, Conn. USA

The Farrell's contribution to our breed will be long remembered. They
combined the best Irish, English and American bloodlines during their
six decades of involvement in the dog fancy. With their passing came the
end of an era that we "youngsters" can only imagine. A rather large book
would be required to even begin a Farrell biography regarding their Smooths,
let alone their other breeds and horse interests. I am very grateful to have
made Mrs. Farrell's acquaintance in her later years.

Rare photo of Mrs. Emilie Farrell and BIS Ch. Foxden Warpaint, C. G. (1981)

BIS Ch. Foxden Warpaint was sired by BIS Eng. and Am. Ch. Karnilo
Chieftain of Foxden out of Ch. Foxden's Dealer's Choice.
Warpaint sired BIS Ch. Foxden Warspite out of Ch. Foxden Gallivant.
Warspite sired Ch. Foxden Warlord, C.G. (Buster) out of
                          Ch. Foxden Painted Pony.
Warlord sired Ch. Morgansonne Gallant Legacy out of Ch.
                          Legacy Molly Morgansonne C.D.

Legacy purchased Ch. Foxden Warlord, C.G. from Mrs. Farrell at four
months of age in January, 1984.

Mrs. Farrell's last BIS Special was my own Ch. Legacy's Picasso "Pablo",
who she owned until her passing. Pablo came home to California in February,
1994. His best known puppy became BISS Ch. Foxden Highland Fling.

The Farrell's
Honeymooners, Mr.and Mrs. James A. Farrell, are photographed boarding a Farrell Ship for Great Britain, where they purchased their first pair of Irish Smooths (1934). The years went by so fast...and the rest is HISTORY.
