Footprints in the Sand
One night a man had a dream. He
dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two
sets of footprints in the sand. One belonged to him, and the
other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before
him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed
that many times along the path of his life, there was only one
set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him
and he questioned the LORD about it. LORD, you said that once I
decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have
noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there
is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I
needed you the most you would leave me." The LORD replied,
"My precious, precious child, I love you and would never
leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see
only one set of footprints, it was then I carried you."

HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE
I was walking down life's highway
a long time ago. One day I saw a sign that read, "HEAVEN'S
GROCERY STORE". As I got a little closer the door came open
wide And when I came to myself I was standing inside. I saw a
host of ANGELS. They were standing everywhere. One handed me a
basket and said, " My Child shop with care". Everything
a Christian needed was in that grocery store. And all you
couldn't carry, you could come back the next day for more. First,
I got some PATIENCE: LOVE was in the same row. Further down was
UNDERSTANDING: You need that everywhere you go. I got a box or
two of wisdom, a bag or two of FAITH. I just couldn't miss the
HOLY GHOST, For it was all over the place. I stopped to get some
STRENGTH and COURAGE To help me run this race. By then my basket
was getting full, But I remembered I needed some GRACE. I didn't
forget SALVATION, For SALVATION was free, So I tried to get
enough of that To save both you and me. Then I started up to the
counter To pay my grocery bill, For I thought I had everything To
do the MASTER'S will. As I went up the aisle, I saw PRAYER: And I
just had to put that in, For I knew when I stepped outside, I
would run into sin. PEACE AND JOY were plentiful; They were last
on the shelf. SONG and PRAISE were hanging near, So I just helped
myself. Then I said to the angel, "Now, how much do I
owe?" He smiled and said, "Just take them everywhere
you go." Again, I smiled and said, "How much do I
really owe?" He smiled again and said, " MY CHILD,
JESUS PAID YOUR BILL A LONG, LONG TIME AGO."
"ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER YOU
SHALL ASK IN PRAYER, BELIEVING, YOU SHALL RECEIVE." (MATTHEW
21:22)
Dear Friend,
As you got up this morning, I
watched you and hoped you would talk to me, even if it was just a
few words, asking my opinion or thanking me for something good
that happened in your life yesterday. I noticed you were to busy
trying to find the right outfit to put on and wear to school. I
waited again. When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew
there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but
you were too busy. At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes
with nothing to do exept sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to
your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me but you ran to the
phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip. I Watched as
you went to school and I waited patiently all day long. With all
your activities, I guess you were to busy to say anything to me.
I noticed that before lunch you looked around. Maybe you felt
embarrassed to talk to me. That is why you didn't bow your head.
You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of
your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you
didn't. That's okay. There is still more time left, and I have
hope that you will talk to me even yet. You went home and it
seems as if you had a lot of things to do. After a few of them
were done, you turned on the TV. I don't know if I like TV or
not, just about anything goes there and you spend a lot of time
each day in front of it; not thinking about anything, just
enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched TV and
ate your meal, but again you didn't talk to me. As you did your
homework I waited again. You did what you had to do. At bedtime I
guess you felt too tired. After you said goodnight to your family
you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That's okay
because you may not realize that I am always there for you. I've
got patience more than you will ever know. I even want to teach
you how to be patient with others as well. I love you so much
that a long time ago I left a wonderful place called
"Heaven" and came to Earth. I came to bear the
punishment for every thing you did or will do wrong. I took your
place. I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, prayer,
thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a
one-sided conversation. Well you are getting up again and once
again I will wait with nothing but love for you, hopeing that
today you will give me some time. Have a nice day!
Your friend,
Jesus
Lifes’ Long Journey
At times I become weary, and full
of despair. The weight of my burdons that I carry from day to day
on my shoulders, is breaking my back. I can’t straighten up,
my legs tremble with each step that I take. Sometimes, I stumble
and fall, and I don’t want to get up. My exhausting journey
through life is only half over, how can I make it the rest of the
way?
As I lay on the ground, wallowing
in the bed of self pity that I alone had created for myself, I
close my eyes, and only then, do I truely begin to see. I see
Jesus Christ my Saviour in front of me, carrying on His back a
heavey cross. His legs trembling from the weight, stumbling along
the way as He drags the cross through the streets. Disgraced and
scourned, I can see His weariness, and His despair. Placed atop
His head, a crown of thorns, His sweat mixed with His blood, it
rolls down over His brow, as the thorns cut deep into His flesh,
His journey through life comes to
an end, He is nailed to that old rugged cross, suffering
agonizing pain, and feeling forsaken, by his Father, the hours
pass by slowly, until finally He makes the most important
journey, known to only those who had died before Him.
He will travel through the
darkness of death, to the light, the light of Life and Love
everlasting, In Heaven there He will be seated at the right hand
of His Father.
I pick myself up, my faith is
stronger than ever, and I know now that I can make it the rest of
the way. Jesus died for me, and he died for you, all we have to
do is ask him, annd He will give us the strength to go on. There
is nothing in life that we can’t face, all we have to do is
have faith, faith in GOD, and someday he will bring us home.
