3/4 c. diet light mayonaisse 3 T. honey 2 T. mustard 1/2 T. vinegar Mix all ingredients thoroughly and refrigerate. Overnight Salad 1 head lettuce 1 head cauliflower 1 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled 1 onion, minced fine Cut lettuce into bite size pieces. Put in bowl. Put bite size cauliflower on top of lettuce. Put onion on top and then bacon. Dressing: 1/4 c. sugar 2 c. mayonaisse 1/2 to 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper 1-3 c. parmesan Mix all together. Put dressing on top. Cover with lid or plastic wrap. Sealing edges. Chill overnight. Mix before eating. Amish Macaroni Salad This absolutely is the best macaroni salad. I've had many to ask for the recipe. It is popular up in Maryland. 1 lb macaroni or baby sea shells 1/2 c chopped celery 1/2 c finely grated carrots 1/4 c finely chopped onions 6 hard cooked eggs, chopped (except 1 sliced) Paprika Cook macaroni as directed; drain and cool. Set aside 1 hard cooked egg; then stir together gently the cooked macaroni, celery, carrots, onion, and the remaining eggs. Dressing: 1 pint Miracle Whip 3/4 c sugar 1/4 c vinegar 2 tablespoons prepared mustard Blend together; then fold into macaroni salad mixture. Garnish with 1 hard cooked egg and paprika. Garden Pasta Main Dish Salad 1 c. Miracle Whip Light 1/4 c. chopped parsley 1 t. dried basil leaves, crushed 1 garlic clove, minced 1 - 8 oz pkg sharp cheddar cheese, cubed 2 c. broccoli flowerets 1 c. (4 oz.) tri-color corkscrew noodles, cooked and drained 2 med. tomatoes, cut into thin wedges Combine dressing, parlsey, basil, and garlic; mix well.Add cheese, broccoli, and noodles; mix lightly. Chill. Spoon on salad plate; surround with tomatoes. Greek Chicken Salad 3 c. cubed cooked chicken 2 medium cucumbers, peeled, seeded, chopped 1-1/4 c. crumbled feta cheese 2/3 c. sliced pitted olives 1/4 c. sniped parsley 1 c. mayonnaise 1/2 c. plain yogurt 1 T. dried oregano, crushed 3 cloves garlic, minced In a large mixing bowl, combine chicken, cucumber, feta cheese, olives, and parsley; set aside. In a small mixing bowl, stir together mayonnaise, yogurt, oregano and garlic add to chicken mixture. Toss to coat. Cover and chill. Pretzel Salad This is more like a dessert than salad. 2 c. thin stick pretzels, broken 3/4 c. melted margarine 1 T. sugar 6 oz. strawberry Jello 2 c. boiling water 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries 8 oz. softened cream cheese 1 c. sugar 1 (9 oz.) Cool Whip Mix together pretzels, margarine, and 1 T. sugar. Press in 13x9 baking dish. Bake at 400F for 8 minutes; set aside to cool. Mix together Jello, boiling water, and frozen strawberries. Refrigerate until slightly thickened but not set.(Does this quickly) Cream together softened cream cheese and 1 c. sugar. Add Cool Whip, blend and spread over cooled crust of pretzels. Pour thickened Jello on top of cream cheese layer and return to refrigerator to congeal. Bean Salad 1 can drained green beans 1 can drained yellow beans 1 can drained and washed kidney beans 1 small green pepper, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped coarsley Dressing: 2/3 c. sugar 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper 2/3 c. vinegar 1/3 c. oil Mix dressing with beans and cover with Saran wrap. Refrigerate overnight. Fold over 1 to 2 times before serving. Seafood Macaroni Salad 1 lb. shell macaroni, cooked and drained 1 can sliced black olives, drained 1 small jar chopped pimentos, drained small amount of chopped sweet pickles and bell pepper Add mayonaisse, ketchup, and spicy Mrs. Dash as needed.
