Troop Record Keeping

There are many systems for keeping track of records for your girls. There are computer programs available (such as G-Scoutmate) which track everything from dues to attendance to recognition work for those that like to have a permanent ongoing record. Many times, however, I find that it is benefical to also have a hard copy to work with. For example, while working on specific recognitions, I like to have a record that will show all of the girls work on one recognition as they complete each segment. That way, I have a visual record of each girl's status at any time. In order to do this, I have devised my own forms to keep track of this. Below are some of the forms I have developed for my own use. Feel free to print them out and adapt them to your own needs. (Since record keeping is more complicated as the girls get older, I have only included forms for Junior level and up)

Cadette/Senior Records

At the Cadette/Senior level, you may want to require the girls to hand in their own justification of having earned a specific recognition; however, it is still good to keep you own records since sometimes girls forget and then are trying to reconstruct these records after the fact. Having them justify their own earning of a recognition is good training towards the Silver and Gold Awards.
