THE COTTAGE GLOW

I stop by here and stand alone
Around me it does snow
I wonder what it's like in there
Beside the firesides glow

The radiant warmth shines out so clear
It warms me deep inside
With golden light it beckons me
With dreams I can't deny

The roof is covered o'er with snow
The wreath is hung by gate
Smoke from the chimney lets me know
A fire burns in the grate

The door now opens, they call to me
"Come in, out of the cold"
They welcome me and take my coat
As this family I behold

Why do I take this journey
To stand out here and gaze?
At once I know the families mine
And still I am amazed

What have I done to be so blessed
By God from up above?
That He should shower down on me
This home so filled with love?
