KATHY'S ROOM
Hello and welcome to my room. My name is Kathy and my husband's name is Ben. We met through mutual briends at the beach and have been married for 20 years and are raising 4 great kids. I have had one miscarriage and in my last pregnancy we lost a set of twin girls in my 5th month. In the twin's room you will find much helpful information on twins.
My husband was in the Navy for 21 years. I was a stay-at-home mother for 17 years, but am now back in the work force. A couple of years before going back to work I had been a room mom and helped out in the school. I began helping in my daughter's third grade classroom.
I have many hobbies and interests. My number one interest is helping and taking care of my family. My children's education is a priority. I also love to do crafts. Especially, cross-stitch. I also do other embroidery, plastic canvas, latch hook, ceramics, wood burning and a little sewing. Here and there I will try a new craft. On America Online I belonged to a floss swap group and 2 round robins. Through these groups I met new friends and we exchanged patterns and ideas as well as much email. The cross-stitch and other craft rooms are still under construction, but eventually I will show pictures of projects I have done.
I try to read a bit and encourage my children to do as much as they can. My husband is a tremendous reader as well as my oldest. My kids love going to the library and picking out their own books. I also love reading some of favorite monthly magazines such as Martha Stewart Living, Better Homes and Gardens, Family Circle, Woman's Day. I also have a collection of craft books, magazines, and leaflets. The only craft magazine I currently subscribe to is Cross-Stitch Magazine. Once in a while I have a chance to pick up a good thick book. Our favorite place to read is in bed right before drifting off to sleep.
One of my favorite craft shows is Martha Stewart Living so I was very excited when when she launched her daily show and website. You can link to her website below. I also receive her magazine and love her ideas for decorating, gardening, crafts, and recipes. I also hope you enjoy my links to other great places on the web. I also love the DIY network and HGTV.
I enjoy baking more than cooking. Our recipe section will be in Kathy's Kitchen which is under construction. I'm no way near being a master chef, but would like to share some of my favorite recipes.
We enjoy different types of music, but especially country. We will talk more about our favorite singers in our Music Room, which is under construction.
